Perfectly Cut Diamonds Creating The Hearts & Arrows Effect

It is ready to complete its extraordinary journey which began millions of years ago in Canada’s majestic North. As a rough diamond, it was mined exclusively in the Northwest Territories. Once mined, the world’s best diamond cutters from Israel, Russia and Thailand were commissioned to work their magic to produce one of the world’s finest finished diamonds. These master artisans create Hearts & Arrows caliber diamonds with unmatched brightness, fire and scintillation.

What is a Hearts & Arrows Diamond?

Hearts & Arrows diamonds are cut to their specific proportions with superior optical symmetry and a specific faceting pattern, when all these factors are in harmony the result is a repeatable, near perfect pattern of eight symmetrical arrows when viewed from a face up position, and eight symmetrical hearts when viewed from a table down position. When you want to cut H&A, the most important factor is proper pavilion angle.

OGI FireTrace Scale

The decision of which diamond to purchase relies heavily on how much a diamond’s fire and sparkle bring it to life. After extensive research and development, OGI has constructed an instrument that not only measures a diamond and mathematically simulates its light–reflecting properties, but can also determine how much “life” there is in a stone according to the level of their light-reflecting properties. The Firetrace uses ray tracing technology and provides results for good clarity stones. Firetrace technology from OGI sets new standards in the diamond world, the world leader in diamond technology.

Brightness
White light reflected up through the top of the diamond.

Fire
Coloured light reflected from within the diamond.

Scintillation
Intense sparkles in the diamond when the stone moves.
